My third grader cannot wait to celebrate Chinese New Year. Her school lunch menu has "Chinese New Year - Chinese Take-out Chicken over Rice" on Jan.26th.
A few days ago, she told the whole family that America was already in the Year of Ox, while China would have to wait until Jan.26th! Even though she knew that Chinese calendar and American calendar are different!
When we talk about people in China, we start with the American view, that's the beauty! We can actually pick the good things from around the world and make them American.
The Year of Ox is supposed to be calm, strong, and hardworking. Happy New Year of Ox.
